This debut CD was distributed through PolyGram Records in S Africa. The music is a unique blend of pop and folk genres with symphonic arrangements, and is simply beautiful. The sound is often compared to that of Stevie Nicks and Tori Amos. Eleven songs received radio airplay in S Africa. One of the tracks, Strange Kind of Love, was a Top 10 single; the accompanying video aired on S African TV.

2. INFINITY + 1, MAN; Gold Circle International, 2000
This harder-edged rock CD is often likened to that of Alanis Morrisette, and has playful yet psychologically impactful lyrics. It held a No. 1 position and several Top 10 positions on US College Radio, including I Couldn’t Say Goodbye, by Lori Kats, one of Chappel’s workshop participants. It was the top-selling independent release at Tower Records for 14 weeks in San Jose, CA.

3. SIMPLE GRACES; Beautiful Thing Records, 2005
This CD has a stripped down sound which highlights Chappel’s vocals. The music blends folk, pop, and country styles, and has a uniquely soothing sound. Emmy Moore Minister calls it “music that heals.” The songs are elegantly crafted and deeply personal; many are spiritual.

4. THE WAY HOME; Beautiful Thing Records, 2005
This compilation CD combines the most inspirational songs from Michelle’s first three CDs with three of her solo live radio performances in Holland. It was specifically created for church-going audiences and people seeking spiritual sustenance. But it also appeals to anyone who likes great melodies and uplifting lyrics. The sound is a cross between Fleetwood Mac, Jewel, and Ten Thousand Maniacs. According to Reverend David Bruner, Center for Spiritual Living, “Michelle Chappel is . . . in three words . . . fab-u-lous! I am deeply grateful for her art and her gift of love.”
